Calligraphy Class

Join us for an exciting new class at the Harris Arts Center!

Caryn Sims will teach three two-hour calligraphy classes later this month. The first class will be held on Saturday, October 14 from 10am-noon, the second will be Thursday, October 26 from 5-7pm and the third will be Thursday, November 16 from 5-7pm. All classes are introductory and participants are welcome to attend one or multiple classes.

Students will learn calligraphy (Chancery Italic Hand) lettering as well as word and sentence structure. Each will receive a set of calligraphy grids, tracing paper, a calligraphy marker/pen and examples of the lettering. By the end of the class, they will have learned how to connect the letters into words and will have the opportunity to write a small poem that can be framed.

Caryn has been teaching calligraphy for more than two decades and is excited for the opportunity to share her interest and knowledge with the HAC!

Classes are limited to 12 students, so pre-registration is required.  Call the HAC at 706-629-2599 or stop by to register!
