Adult Classes

Adult Classes are offered throughout the year and vary depending on what students are interested in learning. Ongoing classes include, ballroom dance, yoga and clay (both hand building and wheel throwing.) Other classes and workshops are made available from time to time which include oil painting, eggshell carving, egg decorating, oil pastels and drawing, as well as, others.

Harris Arts Center- Upstairs Community Room (Enter the double doors back of building)
Class is for those with some degree of flexibility. Emphasis is on core strengthening, increased flexibility and proper breathing for health. Hatha Flow, Kundalini, Yin and Yang Yoga philosophy taught in this class.

Cost $8 per class pay-as-you-go

Beginner to Advance Clay – Ages 17 – Adult

Learn the fundamentals of hand building for both beginner and advanced students. Slab, pinch, coil and drape techniques will be utilized to produce individual clay works. Introductory class includes a 25lb bag of white stoneware. Clay tools and glazes are the responsibility of each student. Individual expression and exploration are strongly encouraged. 2012 Clay Class Begins January 3 – February 28
March Session Begins March 6 – April 24

Beginners Clay Class
$120 HAC Members $140 Non-members (Includes 25 lb. bag of clay and Instruction time.)

Intermediate to Advanced
$80 HAC Members $90 Non-Members (Studio time and firing).
Tuesdays: 6:30 – 9:00pm

New student may begin at any time. Beginners classes with instruction last eight weeks from the start date.

Classes are ongoing for experienced clay artists. The above dates apply to new students only. Clay artists are welcome to join in at any time.

Wheel Throwing (Pottery) / January 3 – Feb. 28

Instructor Dan DeFoor. The six week session begins January 3 and runs every Tuesday evening through February 28 (Will break the week of Thanksgiving.) Class time is 7-9 pm. The fee (tools and supplies included) is $150 for HAC Members $170 non members. Call 706-629-2599 to register.
